Our members volunteer in our communities!

The members of our Union donate their labor and raise funds to help local nonprofits, youth sports leagues, veterans organizations, and municipal governments. On this page you'll find examples of some of the projects our members have been involved in over the years.
Unions in the Philadelphia Building Trades Council donated over $150,000 in labor for the construction of the Philadelphia Stars Negro League Memorial Park.
Local 542 members volunteer their time at Thanksgiving to help Northeast Helping Hands.
Building Trades unions, including Local 542, sponsor boxing matches that raise money for A Lift for a Vet.
Local 542 fielded a team for the 32nd Annual Ben to the Shore, a 65-mile bike ride from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia to Atlantic City.
